Weight Loss By Paying Attention

Know What You Eat....

When was the last time you stopped to look at how many calories are in some food that you are about to consume.  You smell the delicious aroma and picture in your mind's eye the wonderful  taste of what you are about to consume and you have no idea about the fat content and the number of calories contained in that wonderful taste and smell.

Managing your fat is like managing your debt.  If you do not have enough money to pay all your bills or buy everything you want then you either have to figure out how to generate more revenue, cut back on expenses or decide to go into debt.

Fat is a lot like that.  You either have to reduce your fat and calorie intake, get more exercise and burn more calories or you have to go into fat debt.  And the same is true with fat debt as it is with money debt, it slowly slips up on you.  Before you know it you are in overwhelming debt and are faced with the reality of having to deal with it.

Fortunately, dealing with fat debt is easier.  You are not going to lose your home because of your fat debt.  The utilities are not going to get cut off.  And reducing your expenses (calories) is easier and totally within your control.

When I first started my diet I was just like you.  I hadn't looked at the calorie content of anything in years.  And when I started doing so I was amazed at how many calories were in some of the things that I was eating.

I'm not much for eating a big breakfast unless it is later in the morning and I go out to eat it where someone else cooks it and makes all the mess that has to be cleaned up.  I'm usually too busy trying to get the pets fed and walked and out the door.  So, breakfast is a quick bowl of cereal for me.

Weight Loss and Daily Calories

Cereal just happened to be the first thing that I started checking calorie and fat content on.  I had been eating what I thought was a healthy cereal and had never looked at the calorie content.  The first change I made was to switch to Kashi GoLean Cereal and with just this one move cut my calorie intake by around 100 calories a day.nutrition label

The other thing that you need to pay attention to when looking at the calories reported on a product's label is the serving size.  For instance, when I looked at the label on the canned chili that I like it states 260 calories per serving.  Well in my mind a serving was the whole can.  However, if you look closer at the label there are 2 servings to a can.  So, when I consumed the whole can I was really eating 520 calories vs. 260 calories.  This is something that is easy to overlook if you aren't really paying attention.

Many commercial foods contain ingredients which enhance your cravings for more food.

You don't want to sacrifice nutrition just for the sake of cutting calories or fat content so you do need to also plan your meals with foods that are low in calories but give you the nutrition that your body needs.  When you do this your body will respond by returning to its natural weight.

You might want to consider adding vitamin and mineral supplements to your daily routine in order to help provide some added nutrients.

Weight Loss and Exercise

Exercise doesn't have to be long, hard workouts at the gym.  Go for walks in your own neighborhood, if it is safe.  Mow your own grass.  Get a small trampoline and jump a short time on it each day.  Simply run in place in your own den.

Don't overdo it with exercise when you first start.  If so, you will be soar and won't want to exercise the next day.  Build up slowly to something decent.  Let's say you have decided to run in place.  Do 50 steps the first few days and then build up to 100 steps for a few more days.  Keep adding until you get up to around 500 steps each day.  You will be amazed at how much difference this little bit of exercise will make in how you feel and in aiding your weight loss efforts.

Weigh Every Day....

Weigh every day; morning and evening.  Always weigh with the same clothes on.  A good time is while you weight loss scaleshave your sleepwear on.  This is something that is more likely to be more the same weight each day than your daytime clothing might be.

Celebrate each little ounce that you lose and don't be discouraged on those days that you didn't do so well.  Just vow to do better the next day.

Notice when your shirt tails start being a little bit looser.  Start noticing when those pants zip a little bit easier.  Don't expect to become slender overnight.  If your continue to pay attention it will come and you will feel so much better that you will want to continue your new eating choices for ever because you will never want to be associated with the word obese again.

If you don't have time to read every food label and plan the meals you need to eat in order for your body to return to its natural weight then get Banned Foods Diet so you can quickly get started bringing yourself back to the old slender you.
